Supporting Workforce Transformation across Wessex Oncology Pharmacy Services

We are looking for some pharmacy support to look at demand/capacity in the pharmacy workforce. This will require a 0.2 WTE project manager with extensive knowledge of oncology pharmacy and aseptic services, and project management experience for a period of 12 months.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Engage relevant stakeholders across all 6 NHS Trusts across Wessex including lead pharmacists, ICS pharmacist workforce planning leads in addition to national bodies, HEI establishments and HEE Deans of Schools.

Support parallel Alliance SACT demand and capacity project through implementing a pharmacy demand and capacity tool: interpret the workforce capacity modelling data.

Facilitate local conversations with Trust pharmacy leads and oncology pharmacy teams to highlight Wessex wide challenges and develop potential solutions.

Identify exemplar oncology pharmacy workforce models which include optimal use of e.g. skills mix approach; IT / AI, different service models ensuring their expertise is used where needed most.

Facilitate sharing of best practice across the Wessex oncology pharmacy community through the regeneration of the Wessex Oncology Pharmacy Network and support innovative ways of working, highlighting any training needs to do this.

Wessex Cancer Alliance Primary and Community Care Cancer Nurse Facilitator (Band 7 – Flexible hours from 0.6 to 1.0 WTE)

As part of the project: Developing and Enhancing Primary and Community Cancer Nursing, we are seeking Expressions of Interest for a Primary and community care nurse facilitator.

This role is part of an overarching project to improve Personalised Care and Support for people with cancer in primary and community care.

All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience:

  • A relevant nursing degree (Masters preferred)
  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
  • Post registration Oncology and teaching qualification or equivalent
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience working as a senior role in oncology nursing
  • Able to work confidently under own initiative, prioritising workload and balancing competing demands.
  • A confident user of IT clinical systems.
