Skin Cancer Awareness Month

May is Skin Cancer Awareness month and with the weather showing a slight improvement, it seems a good time to be reminding people about covering up in the sun and the risks of skin cancer. 86% of melanoma skin cancer cases are preventable and in the UK, cases have been rising in recent years. There are now more than 16,000 new cases each year in the UK.

For this awareness month, a number of UK Charities and organisations have provided some really useful information on their websites about skin cancer risks and ways to reduce your risk. Using this information, we have produced a toolkit with links to all the useful webpages, as well as provided some suggested social media posts, text messages for primary care colleagues and links to leaflets, videos and further support.

Please feel free to download the toolkit and help spread the awareness raising messages within your organisation.
