The publication of the NHS Long Term Plan sets a new and significant challenge to all those who commission and provide cancer services in England and describes some exciting opportunities for us to make sustained and meaningful improvements in services for people with cancer.

Wessex Cancer Alliance, which represents Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, has been tasked with the responsibility of delivering these expectations for our population between 2019 and 2028. This document details our proposed approach to ensuring we do all we can to meet the challenges before us. This follows on from our earlier publication Achievement of Ambitions 2019, in which we describe progress in cancer outcomes already made in Wessex between 2015 and 2019.
