One Year On: The Greater Manchester ePortfolio in Wessex

It has been one year since healthcare professionals in Wessex gained access to the Greater Manchester ePortfolio, and the platform has quickly established itself as a key resource for professional development in the region.

The ePortfolio is built around the ACCEND framework, which defines the cancer workforce’s core capabilities and educational requirements by levels of practice. By embedding ACCEND into the platform, users can:

  • Self-assess against cancer core capabilities
  • Record learning achievements and evidence of practice
  • Identify development opportunities to strengthen skills
  • Facilitate more informed appraisal conversations with managers
  • Plan career progression

This alignment ensures that the ePortfolio is not just a record-keeping tool, but a dynamic, interactive resource that supports long-term professional development.

📊 User Growth

Over the past 12 months, the ePortfolio has attracted 271 registered users, reflecting strong engagement across each level of practice and professions.

🚀 Supporting Nurse Revalidation

We are pleased to announce an exciting new feature for nurses within the ePortfolio. From the beginning of December, the platform includes a dedicated Revalidation Tool.  This enhancement allows nurses to log CPD activities, reflective accounts, and practice-related feedback which can be exported and used during confirmation discussions for revalidation, reducing the administrative burden.
