Improving Psychological Support for People Affected by Cancer in Portsmouth

• To review, during project closure, how the project progressed compared to the Business plan, project plan, and other project documentation that outlined the aims and scope of the work. • To share lessons that can be usefully applied to other projects and the passing on of details of unfinished work, ongoing risks or potential product upgrades or modifications to the team that will support it.

This report describes an Experience Based Co-Design project, led by Dr Emily Connolly, Macmillan Senior Clinical Psychologist at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and David Haylock, Long Term Conditions Clinical Lead at Talking Therapies Portsmouth.

The project was funded by Wessex Cancer Alliance. This project report provides the recommendations as well as lessons learned from working to join up psychological support services in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire, for people affected by cancer.
