Health MOT and Cancer Awareness Day

On Sunday 12 March, we partnered up with The Silk Route Charity, to host a Health MOT and Cancer Awareness day, for members of the public with a particular focus on people from Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority communities.

The event took place at Crosfield Hall in Romsey and was an opportunity for families to come along, find out more about cancer and to hear from both the Alliance and Silk Route members, about the importance of healthy lifestyles.

We were really pleased to be joined by cancer support charities, Wessex Cancer Trust, Jane Scarth House and Macmillan. We also had members from Action Hampshire and Places Leisure, Romsey Rapids join us for the day.

Children had an opportunity to enter into a poster competition and there were also games for them to play and food was served for all to enjoy as well. The talks that were delivered throughout the day, covered topics such as family health, men’s health, nutrition and cancer awareness.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came to the event and supported us.
