In February 2024 the Department of Health and Social Care announced the launch of a Children and Young People’s Cancer Taskforce. This new specific Taskforce will unite clinicians, charities, patient groups and the government with the shared goal of saving lives and reducing the long-term impact of cancer in children teenagers and young adults diagnosed with between 0-24 years of age.
The new Taskforce will bring together experts to explore how to improve treatment, detection and diagnosis, and research for cancer in children and young people.
