Genomics in Primary Care – West Dorset

November 26 @ 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Free

In partnership with Central & South Genomics we are pleased to offer a series of Genomics in Primary Care Education Events, taking place over Autumn 2026.

With advances in medicine, genomics is expanding. From newborn tests through to direct to consumer testing, pharmacogenomics, personalised treatments and cancer risk reduction, more and more appointments feature genomic medicine.

These face-to-face education events will be delivered by Primary Care and Clinical Genetics experts, supported by patients with lived experience of genomic testing and treatment. The agenda will include:

  • Fundamentals of genomics
  • Cancer genomics (BRCA, Lynch diagnosis and management)
  • Polygenic risk scores
  • Generation Study
  • Familia and hereditary conditions
  • Pharmacogenetics

Audience: The education events are open to anyone within primary care: trainee GPs, practice nurses, nurse practitioners, in-house pharmacists and GPs, with the aim of upskilling, information sharing and improving the care offered to patients.

Places at each venue are limited so early booking is advised.

Date and Time: Thursday 26th November 2026, 08:30-16:30

Venue: Kingston Maurward Conference Centre, Kingston Maurward, DT2 8PY
