We are absolutely thrilled to hear of her shortlisting and so was Jane – who had no idea she had been nominated!

“Thank you so much for this recognition and for nominating me, I was shocked but also thrilled to learn that I’ve been shortlisted!”

Jane started her nursing career in 1982, she has worked in surgery and mental health services, although mainly in cancer care. More latterly Jane worked as a clinical nurse specialist in colorectal cancer for 10 years and a consultant nurse in gastrointestinal cancer for 10 years.

Jane Winter has been the lead nurse for Wessex Cancer Alliance since 2015 and her role is to bring cancer nursing leadership across all of the work programmes.

Jane says;

“I am very proud to be working with Wessex Cancer Alliance, where the culture and values still accord primacy to the needs of those who are living through an experience of cancer. We are a growing team of nurses and allied healthcare professionals who look to transform and develop services which are designed at a system level and experienced on a personal level, wherever that care is needed.”

We wish Jane every success in these awards and truly believe she would be an incredibly worthy winner.
