This document provides a rationale for the Cancer Support Worker roles who are employed by secondary care providers in the Wessex Cancer Alliance. Some of these roles have been introduced using short term NHS transformation and voluntary sector funds. In order to support long-term funding of the roles, this document builds an economic and quality case for change.
