Welcome to our dedicated page for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Primary Care Conference, which took place on Thursday 26th February 2026. The event was held at the Novotel Southampton.
The theme was ‘Improving Cancer Outcomes’. We had 122 attendees in total and were joined by clinical and non-clinical members of our local primary care teams.
The morning session put patients at the forefront, with two people with lived experience sharing their cancer stories. Attendees also heard from Abi Desouza, who gave a presentation on our lung cancer screening programme across Wessex, and there were a selection of workshops for delegates to choose from as well.
The afternoon, had a focus on bowel cancer, with further workshop opportunities and the day ended with a very insightful panel discussion and Q&A, Chaired by Dr Richard Roope and including Professor Peter Johnson, Dr Nicola Robinson and our Deputy Director, Rob Chambers.
