We can offer the opportunity for experienced cancer nurses to undertake the 2-day experiential Advanced Communication Skills Training (ACST) Course.
This is considered the “gold standard” of communications skills training for the cancer workforce. The course is led by experienced trained facilitators and involves the use of actors in scenarios. Content includes:
- breaking bad news
- shared decision making
- transition to palliative care
You will need to have an enhanced level of communications skills training prior to applying for this course.

Session 2: Date and Time: Wednesday 1st April 2026, 8:30-17:00
Venue: Novotel Southampton, 1 West Quay Road, Southampton, SO15 1RA
Cost: Free
Audience: This course is aimed at senior healthcare professionals (band 6 or above) to enhance their communication skills in more challenging scenarios such as. Due to funding restrictions, this offer can only be offered to health care professionals whose primary role focuses on supporting people with a cancer diagnosis.
