Description: The purpose of this event is to explore why some people do not get the cancer care and support that they need, and what makes a difference. Including:
- Real stories from people who have had cancer
- New ideas to help more people access cancer care in the right place, at the right time and with the right people
- How those working in cancer care can take action to make sure everyone with cancer can access the care and support they need
By the end of the event, you’ll be able to:
- Recognise what makes it hard for some people to access cancer care and supportive services
- Identify ways to help more people get the care they need
- Understand how cancer can affect people’s finances and how to help
- Think about how you and your team can make cancer care fair for everyone
Audience: This event is for those who work with people affected by cancer such as allied health professionals, nurses, doctors, the supportive workforce, and cancer support charities. We would also like to welcome those who may come into contact with people affected by cancer as part of their role, such as those working in social care, housing services, or community support —for example social workers, housing officers, community outreach coordinators, benefits advisors, support workers, and volunteers in local charities.
