The world of cancer research is increasingly complex, and recruitment into clinical trials increasingly challenging. At the same time the opportunities brought by newer technologies such as cancer vaccines are both exciting and at times bewildering.
Wessex Cancer Alliance is committed to ensuring we make the most of these opportunities and to enabling as many clinicians as possible to pursue research activity, for the benefit of us all. This is particularly tricky at a time when clinical services are under sustained pressure, as they are currently, and when the research landscape is changing as the existing clinical research network morph into the regional research delivery networks (RRDNs) across the South of England.
We propose to bring together the leaders in our Clinical Advisory Groups or Site Specific Groups together with leaders from the RDNs, Health Innovation Wessex, Wessex Health Partners, Cancer Vaccine Launch Pad, Genomic Medicine and academia on Tuesday 24th September (venue TBC), so please hold this date as we shape up what will be a stimulating agenda.
Our goal is to unlock the potential of Wessex as a research active and innovative health economy – we look forward to seeing you there.
