SUMMARY:Genomics in Primary Care - West Dorset
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Central & South Genomics we are pleased to offer a series of Genomics in Primary Care Education Events\, taking place over Autumn 2026. \nWith advances in medicine\, genomics is expanding. From newborn tests through to direct to consumer testing\, pharmacogenomics\, personalised treatments and cancer risk reduction\, more and more appointments feature genomic medicine. \nThese face-to-face education events will be delivered by Primary Care and Clinical Genetics experts\, supported by patients with lived experience of genomic testing and treatment. The agenda will include: \n\nFundamentals of genomics\nCancer genomics (BRCA\, Lynch diagnosis and management)\nPolygenic risk scores\nGeneration Study\nFamilia and hereditary conditions\nPharmacogenetics\n\nAudience: The education events are open to anyone within primary care: trainee GPs\, practice nurses\, nurse practitioners\, in-house pharmacists and GPs\, with the aim of upskilling\, information sharing and improving the care offered to patients. \nPlaces at each venue are limited so early booking is advised. \nDate and Time: Thursday 26th November 2026\, 08:30-16:30 \nVenue: Kingston Maurward Conference Centre\, Kingston Maurward\, DT2 8PY \nCost: Free \nLink to Register \nTo see all the dates and venues for these events click here
