DESCRIPTION:Session 1: Date and Time: Tuesday 20th October 2026\, 8:30-17:30 \nSession 2: Date and Time: Wednesday 21st October 2026\, 8:30-17:00 \nVenue: Novotel Southampton\, 1 West Quay Road\, Southampton\, SO15 1RA \nCost: Free \nDescription: We can offer the opportunity for experienced cancer nurses to undertake the 2-day experiential Advanced Communication Skills Training (ACST) Course. \nThis is considered the “gold standard” of communications skills training for the cancer workforce. The course is led by experienced trained facilitators and involves the use of actors in scenarios. Content includes: \n\nbreaking bad news\nshared decision making\ntransition to palliative care\n\nYou will need to have an enhanced level of communications skills training prior to applying for this course. \nAudience: This course is aimed at experienced cancer clinical nurse specialists (band 6 and above) to enhance their communication skills in more challenging scenarios. Due to funding restrictions\, this offer can only be offered to health care professionals whose primary role focuses on supporting people with a cancer diagnosis. \nTo Register: Email wessexcanceralliance@wca.uhs.nhs.uk to request an application form

SUMMARY:Principles of Cancer Care Programme (PCCP) - 4-day course
DESCRIPTION:Learn the latest in cancer care at Principles of Cancer Care Programme (PCCP) – a virtual event for the Supportive & Assistive Workforce. \nPCCP is a 4-day online course\, suitable for all unregistered healthcare staff working in a Supportive or Assistive role who are working with people that are affected by cancer or may have a potential cancer diagnosis. \nThe programme has been designed in collaboration with Cancer Support Workers\, Cancer Navigators and Cancer Coordinators. The course is fully funded by\, and aligned to\, the ACCEND framework.
